Yes, "like the drug", no I didn't have anything to do with naming myself, I haven't tried it, and I don't know where you can get any.😁
My mother, after losing her first child to premature birth five years before having me, and because I was also born prematurely, wasn't sure I would live. She gave me a name to describe how she felt to be given a chance to be a mother again. I love my name because of what it represents for my mother, and the dictionary meaning of "ecstasy" (an overwhelming feeling of great happiness or joyful excitement).
My name serves as a constant validator of how unique I am and reminds me to always seek joy and happiness in life.
For the past nine years, I have worked in People Management and Human Resources. Before that, having obtained my Bachelor's degree in interior design, I worked on commercial, residential, and graphic design projects in several different regions of the U.S.
Throughout both career paths, one thing I have always enjoyed is meeting different people and hearing their stories. I find it is in our stories and perspectives we find commonality and can unify for a common purpose. This fuels my desire to support and validate others and their experiences through storytelling and other arts. I use writing to share the stories of people I have met and experiences I've been inspired by.
I live in Kansas City with my husband and three children. I am a creative person who not only loves writing but all creative art in general: music with a good beat and well-written lyrics, movies or books with characters I think about after I've finished watching or reading, I love drawing and appreciating all forms of creativity. And even though I detest exercising, I do it. My sole and only motivation is the hope that I will live long enough to see my grandchildren. If I'm not on my computer, I'm probably doing some 'mommy-ing thing'.
Feel free to reach out if you have any questions about my writing, any music, movie, or art recommendations, or if you just want to say "Hi!"🙂
